V Mali vtrhnou islamisté do města Timbuktu a zavedou zde právo šaría. Zakazují hudbu, fotbal, cigarety, utlačují ženy, zavedou nucené sňatky a soudní tribunály, které vynášejí nespravedlivé a absurdní rozsudky.
Navzdory represím se obyvatelstvo brání, často ve jménu jiného pojetí islámu.Kidane je tuaregský pastevec žijící v poušti se svou ženou a dcerou. Jeho rodina, která byla zpočátku ušetřena, bude během konfliktu s jiným obyvatelem brzy podrobena novým islámským zákonům.

In Mali Islamists invade the city of Timbuktu and introduce sharia law. They ban music, football, cigarettes, oppress women, introduce forced marriages and judicial tribunals that deliver unjust and absurd verdicts.Despite the repression, the population fights back, often in the name of a different concept of Islam. Kidane is a Tuareg shepherd living in the desert with his wife and daughter. His family, initially spared, will soon be subjected to new Islamic laws during a conflict with another resident.
